FAQs
What's the difference between stereo mastering and stem mastering?
Stereo mastering works from your final mix as a single file. It’s the most common route and suits most projects. Stem mastering gives us more flexibility: we receive grouped stems (e.g. drums, bass, synths, vocals) and can make targeted adjustments that a stereo master can’t achieve. If your mix has specific balance issues or needs more flexibility, stem mastering is worth considering.
What loudness level will my master be delivered at?
We deliver platform-specific masters tailored to your release destination. Spotify and Apple Music normalise to around -14 LUFS integrated, while broadcast and club-focused releases may have different requirements. We’ll discuss your release context and deliver masters optimised for each platform without compromising dynamics or introducing distortion.
How long does mastering take?
A single track is typically turned around within 48 hours. EPs and albums depend on the number of tracks and sequencing complexity, but we’ll confirm a timeline before your project begins. Rush turnaround is available for release deadlines. Just ask 🙂 .
Will I receive a report of what was done to my master?
Yes. Transparency is part of our process. You’ll receive a session summary outlining the processing applied – EQ moves, compression, limiting, and any stereo width adjustments. So you understand exactly what changed and why.
