Prasanna Rahuman

Producer & Songwriter

Prasanna Rahuman, known in the industry as Mad Saami, is one of Sri Lanka’s most distinctive voices in Tamil music production—a genre-blending artist whose work bridges the rich traditions of South Indian Tamil music with the textures of contemporary Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, and Rap.

A graduate of the Hit Factory Audio Institute in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s premier audio technology institution, Prasanna has built a production style that is deeply rooted in South Indian musical sensibility while speaking the language of modern Western production. Over more than a decade in the industry, that fusion has become his signature: melodic, culturally grounded, and built for both the dance floor and the headphone listener.

His reach extends well beyond Sri Lanka. Mad Saami has carved a name for himself across the Tamil-speaking regions of South India, collaborating with respected names including King Rathnam, SriRam, GK, and Ranga Dasanayake, cementing his reputation as a producer who moves fluidly between film, music, and creative collaboration.

One of his most celebrated contributions came through the landmark Sri Lankan Tamil film Soppana Sundhari (2023), where he played a dual role—appearing on screen as a supporting actor while also advising on the film’s musical direction. It was a moment that captured what Mad Saami is: a complete artist who understands storytelling as much as sound.

Based in Sri Lanka, Prasanna continues to push the boundaries of what Tamil music production can sound like, and at That Studio Dubai, he brings every bit of that vision with him.
